Sports News] Several Bundesliga games in this round were marred by fan
protests, as supporters threw debris onto the field to express their opposition
to the entry of foreign investors into the league. Fan protests disrupted
numerous Bundesliga games in this round, with supporters hurling debris onto
the pitch. The protests were aimed at expressing discontent with the
Bundesliga’s decision to allow foreign investors into the league. Matches such
as Cologne vs. Werder Bremen, Hoffenheim vs. Union Berlin, Mainz vs. Augsburg,
and Wolfsburg vs. Dortmund were among those affected by fan demonstrations.
Fans threw objects such as tennis balls, gold coins, chocolates, and even
controlled remote-controlled cars onto the field. These actions resulted in
temporary interruptions of the games, which resumed only after the debris was
cleared by stadium staff. At the end of the previous year, the Bundesliga
Professional League officially approved a plan to introduce foreign investors,
a decision that drew criticism from fans who wished to preserve the league’s
traditions. As a result, fan protests have persisted throughout several rounds
of Bundesliga matches since then.
