[Saba Sports News] According to German media reports, in a poll on “Who should be Germany’s starting striker,” 21,120 participants took part, with 58% of them favoring Niclas Fullkrug as the starting forward for the German team. Only 25% of the respondents supported Kai Havertz starting, while 18% favored having two forwards. In a previous interview, German coach Julian Nagelsmann stated, “If Havertz performs well, he will be ranked higher, but Phil Kruger will also get playing time.” The German media believes that Havertz is Nagelsmann’s top choice as the starting forward, with Fullkrug being a substitute. Nagelsmann had previously discussed position rankings and player roles with his team in March, where Havertz was already ranked ahead of Fullkrug. However, some questioned whether a powerful center like Fullkrug should be allowed to play against tougher defenses after the 0-0 draw with Ukraine at home.
