[Saba Sports News] According to Spanish media reports, the new Camp Nou stadium has drawn complaints from fans due to poor sightlines. In the new Camp Nou, spectators struggle to clearly see the goal from the first row of seats in both the North and South stands. Due to insufficient architectural incline and obstruction from static advertising boards, spectators cannot even see the goal line. Up to the 13th row, spectators still miss roughly one meter of the goal area. It is understandable that fans are dissatisfied, having paid high ticket prices only for limited visibility, compounded by cheering groups waving flags in front. The old Camp Nou stadium, built in 1957, offered excellent sightlines on the second tier stands but unsatisfactory ones on the first tier. In 1994, the pitch was lowered by 2.5 meters, slightly improving spectators’ views. As part of the comprehensive Camp Nou renovation project, Nikken Sekkei’s design addresses this issue by increasing the slope of the first-tier stands and reducing VIP boxes at the rear.
The editor believes that unfortunately, this issue has not been taken seriously. If President Laporta still needs to watch the match outside the VIP box now, I suggest he could sit in Row 10 at Entrance 121 to experience this sightline problem firsthand.
