[Saba Sports News] It has been confirmed that a new team, the American team Cadillac, will join F1 in 2026, becoming the eleventh team. As for whether a twelfth team will join, FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem expressed an open attitude. Sulayem stated, “For the past two years, I have dreamed of major countries having a place in F1. The U.S. will participate through General Motors, and the next step is to welcome a Chinese manufacturer; we already have a Chinese driver.” In fact, Sulayem has been preparing for potential new teams to join for several years. The current Concorde Agreement allows for a maximum of 13 teams, meaning 26 cars can compete. This agreement is currently being renegotiated, with the current version expiring at the end of 2025, which introduced cost cap regulations to F1 in 2021. The editor believes that the FIA President is indeed optimistic about the prospects of a Chinese team joining F1. As Chinese motorsports continue to develop and grow, it is believed that more Chinese teams and drivers will emerge on the F1 stage and achieve excellent results.
