[Saba Sports News] Italy is at risk of being sanctioned by FIFA and UEFA due to the recently introduced Mule amendment, according to Italian media reports. The football governing bodies jointly sent a letter to the Italian Football Association, warning them of the potential cancellation of Italy’s right to host the 2032 European Championship. They stated that if the amendment is implemented as originally proposed or in a modified format covering key points, they would refer the matter to relevant authorities and consider measures, including a possible suspension of the competition in Italy. The Mulè amendment aims to grant complete legal, regulatory, organizational, and management autonomy to all levels of Italian leagues, similar to the Premier League and Football Association models. Serie A seeks to have a binding say in decisions and veto power on matters directly related to the league, currently controlled by the Italian Football Association.
