[Saba Sports News] Meena Sharma, from India, is an international volleyball player, but her 16-year-old daughter, Tanvi Sharma, loves badminton and dreams of becoming a world champion. To help her daughter achieve her dream, Meena Sharma gave up her career as a volleyball player, took coaching courses in badminton, and began to guide and train her daughter. Recently, at the 32nd Smt Krishna Khaitan Memorial All India Junior Ranking Prize Tournament organized by Express Shuttle Club Trust, Tanvi Sharma won her first match in the women’s singles event. After the victory, Meena Sharma advised her daughter not to be proud and taught her how to create better angles for her shots, as well as how to conserve energy during matches. With her mother’s careful cultivation, Tanvi Sharma’s achievements in badminton have surged; she won the national championships in the U-15 and U-17 categories last year, and her goal this year is to become the U-19 champion, while hoping to be selected for the Indian national badminton team.
In my opinion, this mother is extraordinary. She sacrificed her own career and dreams to help her daughter achieve her badminton aspirations, starting from scratch and learning a field she is not skilled in. This is a selfless love that asks for nothing in return.
