[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, former Liverpool player Jordan Ibe has been arrested on suspicion of assault. The 30-year-old winger was detained after arriving at Luton Airport from Bulgaria, where he currently plays for FC Lokomotiv Sofia. Ibe, who has represented England at U18 and U21 levels, was arrested in connection with an alleged assault that occurred in mid-December.
Police reported that Ibe has since been released on bail and is scheduled to appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on March 6. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told the media: “Jordan Ibe has been charged with actual bodily harm. The charge relates to an alleged assault that occurred on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was arrested at Luton Airport on Friday, January 30, and subsequently detained.”
Ibe returned to the UK to attend court for a separate case, where he admitted to obtaining insomnia medication zopliclone using a false prescription and was fined £230 at the Islington Magistrates’ Court in North London. Ibe, who is from southeast London, joined Liverpool as a teenager in 2012 and transferred to Bournemouth in 2016 for a club-record fee of £15 million. In November last year, he left Sittingbourne, a club in the eighth tier of English football, and signed a two-year contract with Lokomotiv Sofia, marking the 13th club in his tumultuous career.
