[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, former Premier League star Michail Antonio is facing a driving ban after his £200,000 Lamborghini supercar was caught speeding. Antonio was involved in a serious crash behind the wheel of a Ferrari in 2024, when he smashed into a tree and narrowly escaped death. This time, his Lamborghini Urus was captured by speed cameras in Birmingham travelling over the limit, yet he failed to inform police of who was driving the vehicle at the time. The 36-year-old former West Ham United forward was initially charged in connection with an incident in March 2024, in which his Lamborghini was recorded travelling at 50 mph in a 40 mph zone on Birmingham’s inner ring road. He is also accused of failing to provide information to identify the driver of the high-performance car. Now playing for Qatari side Al-Sailiya, Antonio was due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court for a hearing today. However, the player, who resides in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, failed to attend the proceedings.
The editor believes that Antonio once said in an interview: “After narrowly escaping death, I felt I had been given a second chance at life.” Yet it now seems he has failed to learn from his previous accident.
