[Saba Sports News] On Tuesday local time, Freiburg officially announced that it will discontinue its X account and move to the Bluesky platform, becoming the third Bundesliga club to make such a social media operational decision recently. Freiburg’s official statement on X said: “Freiburg will cease its activities on the X platform starting today. The values of diversity and tolerance advocated in the club’s charter have been trampled on this platform. The rapid radicalization of this platform is evident through the proliferation of hate, incitement, and conspiracy theories. There has been almost no regulatory or punitive measures implemented. On the contrary, since Elon Musk took over Twitter two years ago, he has been directly responsible for the publication and dissemination of much of this content. The club has reached a point where it is no longer willing to ‘continue this way.’ Opposing xenophobia, racism, and discrimination is part of our identity. In light of the current development of X, remaining on this platform is no longer justifiable. Therefore, SC Freiburg will take its first step on the Bluesky platform. We invite all interested individuals to follow SC Freiburg’s Bluesky account for daily updates.”
