[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, French footballers are hoping to secure extra World Cup tickets for their family members and friends. Philippe Diallo, president of the French Football Federation (FFF), visited the Clairefontaine training centre in France this Tuesday for more than just a lunch with the national squad and Emmanuel Macron. In the afternoon, the FFF chief held talks with players and some coaching staff over pre-tournament customary matters including World Cup bonus terms and the ticket allocation quota reserved for players. The core grievance among the French squad lies with the ticket distribution rules. Diallo proposed a quota of two complimentary tickets per player, alongside an option to buy up to six additional tickets at their own expense, allowing a total of eight tickets for relatives and acquaintances. The players deem this allocation insufficient. Even so, following the ongoing negotiations which are far from finalised, the players fulfilled their commitments by attending a commercial event for the federation’s official partners.
The editor believes that discussions over the bonus have been positive and constructive. It was specifically mentioned that bonus payouts might be withheld until after the semi-finals to boost the final bonus pool. As such, reaching an agreement on this matter looks unlikely to prove difficult.
