[Saba Sports News] Previously, the 2025 German Hylo Badminton Open concluded its competitions across all categories. In a remarkable upset, the French women’s doubles pair Margot LAMBERT and Camille POGNANTE capped off their incredible underdog run by defeating the No. 2 seeds HSU Yin-Hui and LIN Jhih Yun 21-16, 21-10 in the final to claim the championship. Lambert/Pognante have thus become the first French women’s doubles pair in history to win a BWF World Tour title, and it’s a Super 500 level championship at that. In a post-match interview, Lambert and Pognante said, “We played with great energy and speed. We are very happy to bring this medal home.” For Lambert, this victory held an extra layer of nostalgia. Last year, she won the European Championships title on this very court with Anne Tran. Returning to claim victory here again felt almost destined. Lambert remarked, “It feels great to make history for French women’s doubles. It’s always pleasant to come back here; I have many good memories. The hardest part was maintaining mental stability and staying focused even when we had a big lead.”
