[Saba Sports News] This Sunday will see the main race of the 2024 F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Historical data shows that the Azerbaijan Grand Prix began in 2016, designed by renowned track engineer Hermann Tilke, cleverly integrating Baku’s seaside scenery with historical city landmarks to provide an extraordinary visual and driving experience for spectators and drivers alike. Although the Azerbaijan Grand Prix has been held for less than 10 years, it has already set multiple records. For instance, Turn 1 in Baku is only 141 meters from the starting line, making it the shortest distance on the annual racing calendar; Turn 8 in Baku is the narrowest corner of the year, with a width of only 7.6 meters. Previously, only two drivers have completed Pole-To-Win in Baku: Nico Rosberg in 2016 and Valtteri Bottas in 2019; only Mercedes-Benz and Red Bull Racing have ever won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix; and Red Bull driver Sergio Perez is the only driver to have won multiple times in Baku. Whether Ferrari can break its winless curse in Azerbaijan is one of the biggest highlights of this race.
