On January 10, 2025, during the Bundesliga match between Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund, 62 fireworks, 9 smoke bombs, and 1 flash bomb were lit by Bayer Leverkusen fans. Therefore, the club was fined €72,000. On February 5, 2025, during the German Cup match between Bayer Leverkusen and Cologne, at least 140 fireworks and 30 smoke bombs were lit by Bayer Leverkusen fans. Therefore, the club was fined €170,000. Bayer Leverkusen has accepted both penalties, making them legally binding.
