[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Morgan Gibbs-White has engaged in further talks with Nottingham Forest and has returned to training with his teammates amid the club’s dispute with Tottenham. The England international was close to a transfer to Spurs for around £60 million last week, but the deal was abruptly halted after Nottingham Forest accused Spurs of improperly contacting the player to the Premier League.
It is reported that Gibbs-White’s contract includes a release clause, which Spurs activated, but Nottingham Forest is extremely angry about the manner of the contact, alleging that it constituted improper player approach. Nottingham Forest has reportedly instructed Spurs not to contact Gibbs-White again and has sent a letter to both Spurs and the Premier League. The Premier League may decide whether to initiate an investigation. If the investigation finds Spurs in violation, they could face hefty fines or even a transfer ban.
Although Nottingham Forest has declined to comment, it is understood that they attempted to resolve the issue amicably but were unsuccessful. Ultimately, Nottingham Forest sent a strongly worded letter to Spurs and the Premier League and is considering taking legal action.
