[Saba Sports News] The Indonesian Badminton Association recently announced that men’s singles star Anthony Sinisuka Ginting has applied for a three-month ranking protection, effective from March 25 to June 24, 2025. Ginting has been recovering from an injury sustained during the Malaysia Open in January 2025. Indonesian officials revealed that Ginting is suffering from tendon damage and muscle inflammation in his right shoulder. The injury occurred during preparations for the Paris Olympics and was initially treated, but not comprehensively due to the Games’ proximity. After the Olympics, Ginting underwent full treatment and showed improvement, planning to compete in the All England Open. However, he withdrew last-minute due to recurring pain. A shoulder specialist has designed a five-phase recovery plan, requiring at least three months of rehabilitation. Based on the BWF schedule, Ginting will miss five tournaments of varying levels (Super 300 to Super 1000), including the Taipei Open, Thailand Open, Malaysia Masters, Singapore Open, and Indonesia Open.
