[Saba Sports News] The Memphis Grizzlies entered the offseason with several key decisions to make, one of which was selecting a new head coach following the late-season dismissal of Taylor Jenkins.
They’ve opted for continuity, officially naming Tuomas Iisalo as head coach, per a statement from Grizzlies PR.
“The Memphis Grizzlies today announced the team has named Tuomas Iisalo (twa-mas EE-za-low) as head coach. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed,” the release read.
Grizzlies President of Basketball Operations Zachary Z. Kleiman expressed strong support for the hire, stating,
“I have full confidence in Tuomas serving as head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies going forward. Tuomas’ teams at every level have been disciplined, tenacious, and connected on both ends of the floor, consistently exceeding expectations. We look forward to the same in Memphis.”
