[Saba Sports News] In the FA Cup quarter-finals, Erling Haaland scored to help Manchester City secure a 2-1 away win over Bournemouth. However, the Norwegian striker was substituted due to a left ankle injury. Earlier, Manchester City confirmed Haaland’s injury in an official statement: “The club can confirm that Erling Haaland has sustained a left ankle injury. He was substituted during the FA Cup quarter-final and underwent initial scans in Manchester on Monday morning. Further specialist consultation is required to determine the full extent of the injury. The club expects Haaland to return before the end of the season to participate in some remaining matches and the Club World Cup this summer.” However, British media reports suggest he will miss most of the remaining fixtures—a major blow for City. Notably, due to his injury, Haaland was unable to drive his £350,000 Aston Martin back to Manchester after the match, requiring a club staff member to take the wheel instead.
