[Saba Sports News] The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) recently announced an update, declaring that Lewis Hamilton is prohibited from being included in gambling companies’ social media promotional activities. This decision stemmed from a complaint questioning whether the advertisement violated CAP advertising guidelines by featuring a figure who could strongly attract minors. The ASA supported the complaint and reiterated that Hamilton has a strong appeal to young people and is viewed as a role model.I believe that as the world’s top motorsport, the credibility and competitive fairness of F1 are fundamental to attracting viewers, sponsors, and business partners. An excessive linkage between the gambling industry and sports events could pose risks; even without substantial violations, it can damage the purity and reputation of the events. The implementation of this ban is essentially a proactive management measure by event organizers to mitigate potential industry risks.
