[Saba Sports News] Pit Beirer, the motorsport director of KTM, stated in an interview with German media Speedweek that some external investors are considering investing in their MotoGP project, including a heavyweight—Lewis Hamilton. Previously, rumors suggested that KTM was facing bankruptcy due to nearly €3 billion in debt and had entered a self-management process under Austrian law. To cut costs, KTM might withdraw from MotoGP. However, company executives hope to alleviate their financial troubles by attracting external investment. To survive, KTM needs not only funding but also support from investors. In this regard, Hamilton has once again become a focal point. During the recently concluded season, there were rumors that the seven-time F1 world champion intended to acquire a team. Hamilton has never hidden his interest in motorcycle racing, even having his name linked to the Gresini team at one point. However, this rumor was quickly denied by Gresini’s management. Now, Hamilton’s name seems to be increasingly associated with KTM, with Pit Beirer even admitting to having been in contact with the British driver’s management team.
