[Saba Sports News] This week’s NBA media day had fans wondering what hairstyle Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler might debut. Last year, he surprised everyone with an “emo” look, but this year, he kept it simple.
According to Ira Winderman of the Sun Sentinel, Butler had planned a new look but couldn’t pull it off in time. When asked if he’d consider going bald, Butler laughed and said it would take at least $200 for him to think about it.
The Heat remain one of the more intriguing teams in the NBA. They’ve made two Finals appearances and a Conference Finals Game 7 in the last five seasons, yet many pundits currently rank them in the bottom half of the Eastern Conference playoff picture. Despite this, they’ve kept the core that helped them make deep playoff runs.
At 35, Butler’s regular season play has slowed, and he’s missed time due to injuries, but fans hope the potential of a new contract will reignite his postseason form early. Bam Adebayo continues to be one of the NBA’s top big men, while Terry Rozier is expected back after missing last year’s playoff series against the Celtics.
Coach Erik Spoelstra will also have to decide whether to start Tyler Herro or bring him off the bench, where he thrived in 2021-22.
The Heat’s season opener is set for October 23 against the Orlando Magic.
