[Saba Sports News] The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the names of the nominated members for the Player of the Month award in the men’s category for November 2023.
India’s Mohammad Shami and Australia’s Travis Head and Glenn Maxwell are the three nominees, who are in the race to bag the prestigious monthly honour.
Shami took 15 wickers at an average 12.06 and an economy rate of 5.68 in November, helping India reach the final of the ODI World Cup 2023. He also took a seven-for versus New Zealand in the semi-final of the tournament and finished as the highest wicket-taker with 24 scalps after playing seven games.
Head gathered 220 runs in five ODIs he played last month. The impact of his performance is noteworthy since he scored a century in the World Cup 2023 final versus India in Ahmedabad.
Maxwell also had a brilliant November. He claimed a total of two wickets, including the prized scalp of India captain Rohit Sharma in the World Cup final. However, his best came out with the bat. He smashed a double-hundred against Afghanistan, handing Australia an unlikely win. He also hammered a T20I century versus India, helping his side cross the finish line with his match-winning knock.
