[Saba Sports News] Iman Shumpert is on board with the Knicks’ trade for Karl-Anthony Towns. While he expressed some concern about the Towns-Brunson pairing in clutch moments during a recent First Take appearance, he believes the trade improves the Knicks overall.
Speaking on behalf of his new ESPN+ series, *Taking One For The Team*, Shumpert shared his thoughts: “I think KAT fits really well with that team, with the personalities, the willingness to share. There’s something about him and Brunson that I like—it just feels right.”
Shumpert also compared the Towns-Brunson duo to Stockton and Malone, emphasizing their potential for strong pick-and-roll chemistry. He argued that Towns’ shooting efficiency and floor spacing make him a better fit for Brunson than Julius Randle was.

In his Knicks debut, Towns scored 10 points, grabbed four rebounds, and hit a deep three-pointer, showing off his versatility. Although Randle has slightly higher assist numbers, Towns has been more efficient overall, shooting 52.4% from the field and 39.8% from beyond the arc compared to Randle’s 47.0% and 33.3%, respectively.
