[Saba Sports News] The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) has decided to sell tickets exclusively online for the upcoming India-England Test match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, starting January 25. This decision follows issues with black market ticket sales during the ODI World Cup 2023. Fans who purchase tickets online must exchange them for physical copies at Hyderabad Gymkhana and other designated locations.
HCA President Jagan Mohan Rao emphasized that all preparations for the England match are complete, including security and hospitality, and highlighted the measures taken to curb illegal ticket sales. Rao announced, “We’ve ensured all arrangements, including security and food. Tickets will be sold only through Paytm (Insider), and physical tickets can be collected from Gymkhana starting 21st.”
In celebration of Republic Day on January 26, the HCA will also provide free tickets to Indian soldiers and children. Rao mentioned, “As a Republic Day gesture, we’re inviting soldiers and their families, with free passes for at least 2000–3000 members, focusing on government schools.” The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) plans to bring 10,000 school students to experience the match live.
This Test series against England is significant for the Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, as it impacts their position in the World Test Championship (WTC) standings, following their recent series draw with South Africa.
