[Saba Sports News] Following their victory in the second T20I against Afghanistan at Indore’s Holkar Stadium on January 14, a group of Indian cricketers visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain to participate in the ‘Bhasma Aarti,’ a distinguished ritual dedicated to Lord Shiva.
The visiting cricketers included Ravi Bishnoi, Tilak Varma, Washington Sundar, and Jitesh Sharma. Notably, Bishnoi, Sundar, and Sharma played in the match, with only Varma being on the bench. Bishnoi was notable for his two crucial wickets, while Sundar bowled three wicketless overs, and Sharma was dismissed early.
In the Indore match, India secured a six-wicket win over Afghanistan, led by strong performances from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube. Jaiswal scored a quick 68, forming a significant partnership with Dube, who remained unbeaten with 63 runs. Virat Kohli also contributed with a rapid 29 runs.
The Afghan innings was largely powered by Gulbadin Naib, who scored 57 runs, while Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, and Ravi Bishnoi were key bowlers for India. Arshdeep took three wickets, and Patel and Bishnoi each took two, with Dube also claiming a wicket.
