[Saba Sports News] Recently, Argentine media analyzed the possibility of Inter Miami and Leonel Messi participating in the Club World Cup. Previously, Inter Miami head coach Gerardo Martino hinted that the team would participate in the Club World Cup, but FIFA needs to confirm whether they will be invited as a special team from Major League Soccer (MLS). Inter Miami has become a strong candidate due to Messi’s significant influence; his participation would have a substantial impact on the event. Additionally, the team performed excellently in MLS, accumulating 68 points and successfully winning the championship, which may increase their chances of participation. However, the selection rules for host teams remain unclear. While some teams qualify based on continental championships or FIFA rankings over the past four years, there are no clear regulations regarding the 32nd spot for the United States. Another team vying for a spot in the Club World Cup is Philadelphia Union; they rank fourth in FIFA’s CONCACAF standings. Although they do not have as much influence as Inter Miami, they still possess certain competitiveness.
