[Saba Sports News] According to Italian media reports, Inter Milan are under investigation by prosecutors of the Italian Football Federation after displaying insulting portraits and slogans targeting AC Milan during their championship victory parade. Having secured the Serie A and Coppa Italia double this season, Inter held their title celebration parade last weekend. During the event, Marcus Thuram held up a rat-themed picture featuring AC Milan’s red and black colours. Meanwhile, an offensive slogan reading vulgar derby taunts was put up on the team parade bus. Prosecutors of the Italian Football Federation have launched an official probe into the incident, and Inter Milan are likely to face disciplinary sanctions as a result.
The editor believes that such actions from Inter Milan were a tit-for-tat response to similar provocative acts by AC Milan during their championship parade back in 2022. At that time, Mike Maignan, Theo Hernández, Sandro Tonali, Rade Krunic and other players all made insulting gestures towards Inter Milan. Those AC Milan players were subsequently fined for violating Paragraph 1 of Article 4 of Italy’s Sports Law, and the club was also handed a fine of 12,000 euros.
