[Saba Sports News] According to British media reports, Ireland manager Heimir Hallgrimsson has met with Liam Delap to persuade him to represent the Ireland national team. Irish fans worry that Delap might choose the England national team instead of the Ireland national team. He seems set to join Chelsea for 35 million euros, and he scored 12 goals in the Premier League for Ipswich this season. Notably, Delap’s father, Rory John Delap, made 11 appearances for the Ireland national team and also played for the Ireland U21 team. Although Delap will next month represent England U21 in the European Championship in Slovakia, he still qualifies to play for Ireland. Irish manager Hallgrimsson has met with this striker, who has represented England in all age groups except the senior team. However, he hasn’t given up hope, hoping that Delap will someday play for the Ireland national team. Jack Grealish and Declan Rice also represented the Ireland national team in various levels before switching to the England national team.
