[Saba Sports News] Mercedes-AMG has announced that long-serving team member Bradley Lord has been promoted to deputy team principal. Previously Lord served as the team’s chief communications officer, but in recent years he has increasingly become a front-facing figure, regularly appearing on Sky Sports’ race broadcasts as the team’s representative; when team principal Toto Wolff is absent from the track, Lord handles media queries. He is also often seen standing beside Wolff in the pit lane, accompanying the Austrian as they follow the race.
Wolff said the personnel change reflects the expanding scope of the team’s business and the growing responsibilities of senior roles as the team and Formula 1 continue to evolve. He made clear that his own position and overall responsibilities will not change, while Lord’s appointment as deputy team principal will strengthen the management team and continue to support him in his role as team principal and CEO.
