[Saba Sports News] Isaiah Thomas remains determined in his NBA comeback efforts. Shams Charania from The Athletic has reported that Thomas, the ex-All-NBA guard, is now affiliated with the Salt Lake City Stars, the G League team connected to the Utah Jazz. He aims to make it back to the NBA in time for the season’s critical final phase. Recently celebrating his 35th birthday, Thomas has been endeavoring to re-enter the NBA for several years.
His zenith was brief, marked by two All-Star selections (2016, 2017) and an All-NBA nod (2017) during his time with the Boston Celtics, a tenure marred subsequently by a significant hip injury in 2017.
Post-Celtics, he’s bounced across seven NBA teams and played in the G League with the Grand Rapid Gold. His latest NBA spell was with Charlotte in the 2021-22 season, where he posted an 8.3 point per game average over 17 games. Although his prospects might be limited to short-term contracts, given his age and height (5-foot-9), Thomas is eagerly seizing this chance to work his way back into the NBA.
