[Saba Sports News] Sri Lanka, who ousted Pakistan from the Asia Cup 2023, is all set to play their 11th final of the ODI Asia Cup 2023. Sri Lanka won the virtual semi-final against Pakistan with two wickets. Kusal Mendis (91), Charith Asalanka (49*), and Sadeera Samarawickrama (48) were the stars of a well-composed run-chase.
Babar Azam won the toss and elected to bat first. Pakistan scored 252 runs in 42 overs (overs were reduced due to rain). The revised DLS target for Sri Lanka was 252 runs, and they finished things off on the very last ball.
Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan took a dig at the Pakistan team and trolled them for not making it to the final of the Asia Cup 2023. Moreover, Pathan thinks that it’s good for India that Sri Lanka qualified for the summit clash as they would provide more competition, and it won’t be a one-sided contest.
“Playing finals against Sri Lanka will be better for team India as it won’t be a one sided affair.” Pathan wrote on X.
