[Saba Sports News] Since English racing star Lewis Hamilton joined Ferrari this season, the team’s and Hamilton’s performance has been mediocre, leading to instability and drawing external attention. Recently, some Italian media outlets publicly criticized Hamilton, angrily denouncing his race results and performances for falling short of expectations. Hamilton has struggled to adapt to Ferrari’s SF-25 car. Data shows that Hamilton was, on average, 0.4 seconds slower per lap than his teammate Leclerc in the slow corners at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Italian media believe that Hamilton’s signature driving style of “late braking and fast turns” cannot be utilized effectively on the SF-25 car. Furthermore, his oversteer problem in high-speed corners remains unresolved. In contrast, Leclerc has adjusted his strategy to better adapt to the car. Ferrari is a legendary team in Formula 1, boasting numerous fans and an excellent reputation. Italian media hold high expectations for the team’s achievements, placing great hope on Hamilton, a seven-time world champion, to lead Ferrari’s revival. However, in the first six races of the 2025 season, Ferrari’s performance has been unsatisfactory, ranking fourth in the team standings, while Hamilton trails 90 points behind the leader in the driver standings. These results fall far short of the media and fans’ expectations, leading to frustration and anger among Italian media.
