On Instagram, Bumrah shared a heartfelt note about his late father, reflecting on the impact he had on their family and his own new understanding of a father’s role since becoming a parent.
Bumrah wrote, “Your void was always felt in our lives and since I have become a father myself, I realized what a father’s emotion is and what I had missed in my life. As we remember you with happy memories, I wish you were with us, dad.”
Bumrah last played in India’s Test series against South Africa and was rested for the Afghanistan T20I series. He is set to return in the five-Test series against England, starting January 25 in Hyderabad.
