[Saba Sports News] Brandy Tatum made her feelings known following Game 1 of the Boston Celtics’ playoff series against the Orlando Magic.
Celtics star Jayson Tatum had a brief injury scare during Sunday’s opener after taking a hard fall in the fourth quarter.
While going up for a dunk, Tatum was hit midair by Magic guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and also made contact with center Wendell Carter Jr. The six-time All-Star landed awkwardly on his right wrist, remaining down momentarily before continuing in the game.
Although Tatum stayed on the floor, he missed both free throws after the officials assessed a flagrant-1 foul on Caldwell-Pope. Still, the Celtics cruised to a 103-86 win, with Tatum contributing 17 points and 14 rebounds while shooting 8-of-22 from the field.
After the game, Brandy Tatum greeted her son outside the locker room and wasn’t shy about voicing her frustration. “Want me to go to the Orlando locker room?” she asked, as Tatum shook his head in response. The moment, caught on video, quickly went viral.
Fortunately for Boston, Tatum told reporters postgame that X-rays on his wrist were negative, and he downplayed the injury, saying he was “alright.”
Still, Mama Tatum clearly wasn’t pleased with the physical play. The Magic have developed a reputation this season for toeing the line with their aggressive defense—something that has already sparked controversy multiple times. Sunday’s incident only added fuel to that narrative.
