midfielder during the winter transfer window. Their targets include Kalvin
Phillips from Manchester City and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Tottenham Hotspur.
However, the growth law in Italy, which provided tax incentives for Serie A
teams, expired on December 31 of the previous year. As a result, Juventus and
other clubs are no longer able to benefit from these tax incentives when making
winter signings. It is reported that Juventus cannot afford the high salaries
of Phillips and Hojbjerg without the tax incentives, making it challenging for
them to sign both players. In response to these circumstances, Juventus will
need to adopt a recruitment strategy that ensures both sporting competitiveness
and financial balance. The expiration of the growth law has significantly
hindered Juventus and other Serie A teams in their signing efforts. If this
situation continues, it could lead to a decrease in the overall competitiveness
of Serie A.
