[Saba Sports News] According to French media reports, former Bayern Munich goalkeeper Oliver Kahn formally submitted his bid to acquire Bordeaux Football Club on Monday. This development could completely alter the situation, and the next day (Tuesday), the current management team of the club will attend a hearing at the Commercial Court. Kahn and his partners have clearly expressed their intention to acquire Bordeaux Club. Reports indicate that the German football legend “has submitted an asset transfer plan to the judicial administrator and liquidator handling the case.” This team, which should have been competing in France’s fourth-tier league, will defend its sustainability plan at the Commercial Court on Tuesday evening. On February 21, Kahn visited Bordeaux to meet with local government representatives. Since then, he has kept a low profile in his acquisition efforts, refraining from public comments and trying to outpace his competitor Gerard Lopez. Furthermore, if the court finds Kahn’s acquisition proposal sufficiently feasible to warrant further review, the scheduled hearing on Tuesday may be delayed by at least two weeks. This outcome hinges particularly on two key parties: the main investor group Fortress Investment Group and the willingness of the Metropole of Bordeaux.
