[Saba Sports News] Recently, former Roma player Rick Karsdorp revealed in an interview that then-coach Jose Mourinho had angrily called him a traitor eight times in the locker room. Karsdorp mentioned that this incident occurred after Roma’s away match against Sassuolo in November 2022. Karsdorp stated, “Mourinho went too far with that incident. I should have left after it happened; he never apologized for calling me that because he is not that kind of person. Later, I noticed he tried to mend our relationship, but I was unwilling to accept it. He called me a traitor eight times in the locker room, but he shouldn’t have made that public; it surprised me.” Karsdorp also explained the cause of the dispute: “After losing the derby against Lazio, I quickly left to get my coat, which Mourinho was unhappy about. The outcome was terrible; I think he used me to send a message after the Sassuolo match.” Additionally, Karsdorp revealed that he still has some amusing early conversations saved on his phone.
