[Saba Sports News] On Monday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the veteran wing, Kelly Oubre, is expected to join the Philadelphia 76ers on a one-year deal.
At 27 years old, Oubre has faced criticism for his less-than-ideal habits, including inefficient shooting and sporadic defensive effort. Nonetheless, standing tall at 6-foot-7, he had a standout season with the Charlotte Hornets last year, averaging 20.3 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
The 76ers seem to have outperformed another Eastern Conference competitor in securing Oubre’s services. While Oubre alone won’t be a game-changer, the 76ers lost Georges Niang, Jalen McDaniels, and Shake Milton in free agency during this NBA offseason.
Additionally, the unresolved James Harden situation continues to cast a shadow over the franchise. This presents an opportunity for Oubre, a former top-15 pick, to make an immediate contribution to the 76ers.
