[Saba Sports News] Kevin Durant recently fell victim to a highlight-reel dunk by Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards.
During a Team USA scrimmage ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, Edwards posterized the Phoenix Suns forward.
The viral photo of the dunk prompted Durant to respond with a simple three-word caption: “I tried Jennifer.” This was a nod to CJ McCollum’s famous 2018 tweet replying to a fan named Jennifer who taunted him about his postseason record.
Despite his nearly 7-foot frame, Durant couldn’t block Edwards, who is known for his explosive plays. Edwards, who had a breakout 2023-24 season, has made a habit of producing jaw-dropping dunks, including one against Durant in the playoffs.
Given Durant’s reported calf injury, it’s commendable he attempted to contest Edwards at all.
