[Saba Sports News] With a month to go before the new NBA season, the New York Knicks are already facing setbacks.
Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reported Monday that center Mitchell Robinson won’t be ready for the start of the 2024-25 season. Robinson is recovering from offseason ankle surgery, with a potential return timeline stretching into December or January.
Robinson, 26, injured his left ankle during the Knicks’ first-round playoff series against the 76ers, and his injury history remains a concern.
He hasn’t played more than 60 games in the past two seasons. With Isaiah Hartenstein departing in free agency, the Knicks will need to get creative at the center position, possibly exploring some unexpected options for their frontcourt.
