[Saba Sports News] According to German media reports, one week ahead of the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid, Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany made a rare decision. On Tuesday morning, instead of training behind the covered barriers at Säbener Straße, the coach held an open training session. This marked Bayern Munich’s seventh open training session at Säbener Straße in eight months since the start of the season. Under Kompany, Bayern have held fewer than one open training session per month on average, and this was the 16th such session in 21 months. For Bayern fans enjoying the Easter holidays, it was a perfect chance to meet their idols. Before training began, a 500-metre-long queue had formed at the entrance to the training ground, with as many as 2,200 fans turning up to watch several stars who had not joined their national teams for international duty.
The editor believes that ahead of the crucial matches against Freiburg and Real Madrid, Kompany has opened the training ground once again. This may bring some extra motivation from the fans for the key games in the final sprint of the season.
