[Saba Sports News] Since South Korean badminton star An Se-young accused the Korea Badminton Association (KBA), it has caused a huge stir, prompting the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to hold urgent talks with the KBA. According to recent media reports, the Ministry has completed a preliminary investigation and will soon announce plans to abolish regulations that restrict non-national team players from participating in international competitions for ranking points. Additionally, they have requested that the KBA remove the compliance clause regarding coaches. Previously, according to KBA regulations, players could only leave the national team and become free agents or professional players after serving five years in the national team, with age limits set at 27 for women and 28 for men. This regulation has now been amended, and besides reviewing training systems, changes have also been made regarding restrictions on players participating in international competitions, national team duties, selection methods for national players, and contracts for unemployed players.
