[Saba Sports News] Kyle Lowry, the newly minted Philadelphia 76er and former All-Star guard, recently addressed comments made by Patrick Beverley on his podcast. Lowry, asked about Beverley’s call-out during his first interaction with reporters since joining the 76ers, chose a diplomatic response, praising Beverley’s competitive spirit and acknowledging their friendship.
“I think Patrick is the ultimate competitor,” Lowry stated. “He’s fiery, and his podcast is great. He’s a friend of mine, and that’s just his competitive nature. I’m looking forward to playing against him as always. It’s just basketball.”
Beverley, who previously served as the backup point guard for the 76ers before being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks, had warned on his podcast about being particularly focused on their upcoming games against the 76ers, scheduled for February 25 and March 14. Beverley is known for his intensity and often uses any perceived slights as motivation to enhance his performance on the court.
Lowry, on the other hand, seems unbothered by Beverley’s warnings, focusing instead on the competition and possibly aiming to prove himself against his own former team more than responding directly to Beverley’s challenge.
