[Saba Sports News] According to French media, during a group photo session between the French national team and French President Emmanuel Macron, captain Kylian Mbappé specially called over the squad’s security officer Mohamed Sanhaji to join the picture. Les Bleus have convened to prepare for this summer’s World Cup. President Macron and his wife visited the Clairefontaine training centre last Tuesday to cheer on the side and shared lunch with the entire squad. Afterwards, the President chatted individually with the players and told the Paris Saint-Germain contingent to shift their focus to the World Cup following their Champions League campaign. Players, coaching staff, the presidential couple and France’s Sports Minister later lined up on steps for an official team photograph. Midway through, Mbappé called out Sanhaji by his nickname “Momo!” and invited him into the shot. The security officer stepped forward to stand in front of Mbappé, with both Mbappé and President Macron placing a hand on his shoulder for the snapshot.
The editor believes that legal investigations into Mohamed Sanhaji over undeclared income and tax fraud are still ongoing, and his superiors arranged for his early retirement at the end of December last year. Nevertheless, the French Football Federation signed a six-month fixed-term contract with Sanhaji to allow him to continue working with the French national squad for this summer’s World Cup.
