[Saba Sports News] Bronny James’ anticipated arrival in Los Angeles might come at the expense of another young player.
Anthony Irwin of Lakers Daily reported Wednesday that Lakers guard Jalen Hood-Schifino has been mentioned in trade talks this summer. This coincides with the Lakers’ plans to draft Bronny, LeBron James’ son, who plays the same position.
Hood-Schifino, a former Indiana star, is only 21 but has struggled with the Lakers since being drafted 17th overall last year. Despite being picked over players like Jaime Jaquez Jr, Brandon Podziemski, and Cam Whitmore, Hood-Schifino failed to make an impact, averaging just 1.6 points and 0.6 rebounds per game. His limited playing time suggests he might benefit from a change of scenery to develop his potential.
With Bronny expected to be selected by the Lakers in the upcoming NBA Draft, the only potential obstacle would be if another team drafts him first.
