[Saba Sports News] Several Indian players have made significant jumps in the ICC ODI player rankings during the ongoing Asia Cup. Shubman Gill has risen to a career-best second place among batters, with only Pakistan captain Babar Azam ahead of him. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have both moved up two spots, occupying the eighth and ninth positions, respectively.
In the bowling department, Kuldeep Yadav’s exceptional performance in the Asia Cup has seen him climb five places to seventh in the ICC ODI bowlers’ rankings. Hardik Pandya has also made a notable leap, moving up four places to sixth in the ODI all-rounders’ rankings.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq have dropped in the batters’ rankings due to their less impressive performances in the tournament. Among Pakistan bowlers, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah have made significant gains despite suffering injuries during a match against India.
Additionally, Australian and South African players have seen shifts in the rankings. David Warner has moved up one place to fourth in the ODI batters’ rankings, while Travis Head has climbed six places to 20th. South Africa’s Temba Bavuma has reached a career-high rank of 11th, making a substantial leap of 21 places.
In the bowling rankings, Josh Hazlewood continues to hold the top position, with Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi also moving up.
