[Saba Sports News] LeBron James was in top form from the first quarter of the gold medal game against France.
The Lakers star went viral on Saturday for an incredible behind-the-back pass to teammate Devin Booker midway through the first quarter. After dribbling past France’s Isaïa Cordinier, James was met by Victor Wembanyama in the paint. Despite the challenge, James audaciously delivered a behind-the-back pass to a cutting Booker, who finished with an easy layup.
During the NBC broadcast, Dwyane Wade, James’ former teammate, remarked, “I don’t even know what made him try that.” Noah Eagle humorously replied, “Delusion?”
James made it look effortless, but the pass was exceptionally difficult, threading the ball past the 8-foot wingspan of Wembanyama and the 7-foot-1 wingspan of Frank Ntilikina.
At nearly 40 years old, James remains Team USA’s leader and continues to make his final Olympic run unforgettable.
