[Saba Sports News] The World Badminton Championships will be held in Paris, France, at the end of this month. Recently, Malaysia’s top men’s singles player Lee Zii Jia announced that he will participate in the tournament, marking his long-awaited return. Lee suffered a right ankle ligament injury during the World Tour Finals last December. Although his current world ranking is 52nd, he benefits from the “protected ranking” granted by the BWF. This comeback presents him with two major challenges: his current competitive form and the draw for the match schedule. The World Championships are one of the top events in badminton, with a high value for the title. For Lee, winning the championship would create a historic moment for Malaysian men’s singles – a feat even Lee Chong Wei has not achieved. If successful, he could be recorded in history, which would be a significant milestone in his career. Though he has never advanced beyond the quarterfinals in previous World Championships, this injury recovery might offer a new opportunity for him to achieve better results with a fresh mindset and strategy.
