[Saba Sports News] Last week, Chinese badminton player Liang Weikeng gave an exclusive interview to Xinmin Weekly and XinKan Renwu. He and his partner Wang Chang formed the ‘Liang-Wang combination,’ which won the men’s doubles championship at the 2026 India Badminton Open on January 18, showing excellent form. In just 16 months, the ‘Liang-Wang combination’ rose from world rank 444 to number one. Some say that Liang Weikang is synonymous with ‘the aesthetics of violence,’ with his smash speed reaching 488 kilometers per hour being his signature move. However, Liang Weikeng‘s story is not only about speed and power. After losing the final point in the Paris Olympic final, he did not cry and was able to sleep. Some described him as overly relaxed, but he stated: ‘If you think too much about the results, you lose sight of the process.’ Liang Weikeng revealed that the courage to climb back from a low point is more challenging than talent. During the interview, Liang generously shared the good news about his partner. On February 7, Wang Chang married his girlfriend Qian Tianyi (钱天一). Liang mentioned that he was fully involved in planning and arranging the proposal, effectively serving as the ‘behind-the-scenes assistant.’ Facing the camera, he sincerely wished his partner a happy marriage. When discussing his views on love, Liang Weikang honestly said that the most important thing is to have aligned values, followed by shared interests, and simplicity and sincerity.
