[Saba Sports News] After the Mavericks lost Game 5 and the NBA championship to the Celtics, Luka Doncic spoke positively despite the defeat. He emphasized that the team had only been together for a few months and had achieved great success. While disappointed about not winning, Doncic expressed pride in every member of the organization for their journey.
“I feel great. We made some great moves. We’ve been together for five months. I’m proud of every guy who stepped on the floor, all the coaches, and everyone behind the scenes. We didn’t win the Finals, but we had a hell of a season. I’m proud of everyone.”
Doncic’s calm and measured response came after a tough series against the Celtics, who outmatched the Mavericks in almost every game. Despite his struggles, Doncic averaged 29.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists over the five games.
Looking ahead, the Mavericks aim to reset and strengthen their roster to better compete in the Western Conference, building on the success of reaching the NBA Finals.
