[Saba Sports News] Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic isn’t afraid to talk trash to anyone, including Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck.
During Game 2 of the NBA Finals at TD Garden, Doncic drew attention for his interactions with Grousbeck on the sidelines. At one point, Grousbeck taunted Doncic, who responded by hitting a shot and barking back at the Celtics’ owner.
When asked about the exchange after the game, Doncic downplayed it, saying, “I’m sorry. I don’t know who the Celtics owner is.”
Doncic has a history of engaging with unruly fans courtside, as seen during Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals against a Minnesota Timberwolves fan.
In Game 2, Doncic scored 23 of the Mavericks’ 51 points in the first half, but his efforts weren’t enough to prevent a 105-98 Celtics win, giving Boston a 2-0 series lead. Doncic finished with 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists on 12/21 shooting. Kyrie Irving, however, only managed 16 points and faced heckling throughout the game, not just from the Celtics’ owner.
